I wrapped my roof myself for $180 3m carbon fiber took bout 2 hrs. U can view pics at the link on my Sig. Painting a roof shouldn't be no more than $500 max

 

I had my roof vinyled glossy black at first. I was disappointed because the vinyl had a subtle pattern to it that made it look somewhat matte. It was also a PITA to clean.

I eventually had it ripped off and professionally painted for ~$500. Now I can detail (clay bar, polish, wax, etc.) the roof just like the rest of the car.
