Default Best setting for freeway throttle?

Hi All,

I've been toying around with my is350 again and I followed the settings on the forum and got amazing results off the line. I used traction control off, put ect on normal, put the drive to D and off I went. It felt amazing, but on the freeway, should I use ECT on with sport mode or should I leave it as D mode for the best results?

Thanks everyone!

In cruise mode nothing matters.

But the throttle seems to respond faster with the S mode.

Leave it in drive for the best result. If you switch over to "sport mode" on the shifter, I don't think the ECT button works anymore anyways.

If you want better throttle response, leave it in D and put it in ECT PWR. This will make the car downshift quicker and hold gears longer.

For a sporty feel while freeway driving I would recommend leaving the gear in D and turning on ECT.

Killa made a good point. If you move out of D you disable what ECT enabled.

Just to make sure it's clear, ECT (electronically controlled throttle - with normal, snow, or power "modes") changes the shifting behavior of your 2IS. Sport mode engages your gear limiter, allowing you to force the 2IS into a lower gear than it would normally run in.

Personally, I prefer ECT power, non-sport mode for everything except WOT from a dig. The only time I even use Sport mode is when I want to scare people with my exhaust.
