Default New member and a quick question

Hey guys just bought an 07 is250 Smokey granite last month. I absolutely love the car, I used to own a 2000 1.8T Jetta so this is quite the upgrade.

I just noticed last night when I went to pour some windshield washer fluid in I felt it splattering all over my feet, I'm just wondering what you guys think that would cost to repair and whether I should bring it to a dealership to fix or a local mechanic. Thanks

So there is a hole in the windshield washer fluid container or something? Sounds like an easy fix and shouldnt require any dealership attention,

Sounds like you might either have to take off the front bumper and/or maybe take off the left front wheel and fender liner to access it, and remove and replace it.

A couple of things you should check though, definitely the container, or possibly the hose(s).

Okay thanks guys. Don't really have much room at my new place to work on cars anymore so I'm probably stuck brining it to a shop

Honestly, there's always a place to fix a car with new friends. Why don't you post in your local forum and someone, provided they're doing work as well and needs a second pair of hands, will help. Even if not, at least you tried.

^Good point! Make some new Lexus friends locally and have them help you with the repairs. Usually a 6 pack and a pizza is pymt enough for most.

And yes, it is an easy fix I'm sure. You won't even need to replace the container, unless the leak is from the fluid motor to feed the wiper sprayers. Some clear epoxy on the crack/hole, bam...done!

Try this though before going to fix it. Start the car, fill container with water, immediate jump into the cabin and try out the sprayers. If they spray water before the container empties out, you know that the lines from the container to the sprayers is intact and the pump is functional.

GL!

Never thought of looking for other local Lexus owners, I'll try that.

And I'll also try your suggestion gville350.

Sorry I can't quote you guys properly I'm using my iPad and it's a little tedious.
