Tesla Android Radio and Waze
Hi all,
I have the px-3 10" Tesla Android stereo.
Maybe about half year ago, I noticed that Waze keeps having a connectivity issue even though the radio has a hotspot connection to my phone. I would have to close Waze and reopen it....maybe even a few times. Sometimes it may connect itself again without closing/reopening the app.
Also, after turning off the car, say for buying gas, Waze should still show and resume my trip when I start the car again. However, Waze turns itself off. Not sure if this issue is due to Waze updates? Also, sometimes the music I was playing would turn itself off too.
I didn't update anything on the radio. I was wondering if anyone else has this issue.
Thanks!

I would try in this order:
- Network settings reset
- Uninstall and reinstall Waze
- If that doesn't work, factory reset the unit and install your apps again
- See if the manufacturer has a software update (new app versions can slowly deteriorate on old android versions)

I tried factory reset a few times. Still the same.
I don't think I can get a manuf. software update. Let's just say I had a terrible customer service.
But thanks for your suggestions!

Yeah, Chinese head units are known to have these type of issues.
Are they just minimizing or actually stopping? Also, do does your head unit have a physical minimize/back, home and overview buttons? This information is important. If they're just minimizing and not completely stopping, it's most likely a hardware malfunction, the button(s).
OS updates are also hard to come by, as they're specifically designed per head unit. Updated OS' just come with newer head units. Your best chance is if someone some clever developer managed to backup the whole OS. You could try XDA Forums for this. I got quite a lot of software and information for my head unit there.
