Default RIP IS250 / My Little Story / Drive Safely!

Its been about 6 months since my gf's 2010 IS250 was totaled. Some guy ran a red light and hit us. If i didnt hit the brakes, he would have T-boned us. We walked away from it, but we saw a chiropractor about the back pain and neck pain we recieved. The car was totaled, and it will be missed.

I always drove her car carefully, and it was well maintained. It was totaled last December. It was a 2010 IS250 with just 16k Miles (we kept it low)

The guy who ran the light yelled at me (IN ENGLISH) saying it was my fault, i was angry and yelled back (wasn't thinking). I asked for insurance and registration and he said "NO HABLA INGLES" (Wtf?) i called the cops and they came out. looked at the accident. I had 2 witnesses saying he ran the red light, and the positioning of my car was obvious that i would have got hit by cars in the other lane IF i did run the light. He claimed i was on the phone and i ran it (he said i was physically holding the phone). My counter argument was that the IS250 had bluetooth so why would i hold the phone?.... anyways cops gave him tickets for running the red light. It also turned out that he DID NOT have a DRIVERS LISCENCE or INSURANCE and the car WAS NOT HIS. He was also ticketed for those.

This is just a little reminder for everyone to drive safely and sometimes be careful of other drivers around you. Just because you are driving safe, doesnt mean the other guy is!!!

i planned to mod the car more but, it'll be missed. my gf is planning to get an IS-C soon.

Anyways, heres some pics for you guys.

Yes! Definitely glad we both walked out of this.

i saw another thread about someone having a front end collision as well so i thought i'd just remind everyone to drive safely. Dont want this happening to anyone else.

Lol yeah...its scary actually seeing the car coming at you and not being able to do anything. My gf had no idea what happened til she got out of the car.

They are actually XXR 521's. I put them on temporarily because i didnt like the stock look. I was hoping to upgrade to Volk CE28N's in the future.

Glad to hear that you and your gf made it out safe and was able to walk away.

So the other driver got tickets and that's it. Unbelievable. So he's probably out driving around right now as I type this. SMH.

WOW... So mind sharing how your insurance took care of it? I've always wondered what happened if someone hit you and didn't have any papers...
I'm so glad you paid attention and had fast reflexes... Like sddf said, four more feet and we wouldnt know what to think from there.
Hope you're feeling a lot better after 6 long months of recovering. Wish you a better recovery from here on.

Well i can share how our situation was handled, i dont know how others have handled it. My gf's IS was fully covered, so even if he didnt have insurance, it would be covered no matter what. The insurance person said that it would have been a big problem if she didnt because the insurance wouldnt pay for it. They said that they would 1. Sue the other guys insurance, then 2. use that money to pay. But in our situation he didnt have insurance, and his car looked like it was $500 from a junkyard. So if they sued him, yes he would have to pay, but if he didnt have any money there was nothing they could do about it (this is what the officers and insurance lady told me since i was scared and asked numerous times)

Cliff notes: Have Fully Covered Insurance! or else you might get screwed over!
