Still haven't seen anyone ever explain to me how going slower, getting worse mileage, all while needing to do extra work while driving, is "manly" but those are the things you get with a manual.

There's a reason real performance cars are dropping those things like flies.... (IS-F, GT-R, all new Ferraris and Lambos going forward, even some Porsches are moving that way increasingly)

I made no reference to performance. There's a novalty to owning a manual and I'm proud to be an owner of so very few of the manual 250's. Some of us just wouldn't be caught dead with an automatic car. I just added the manly part to poke fun of the 350 owners that think they're all high and mighty is all. Cheers.

I for one proud that my IS is an auto - too painful to row the gears in traffic jam at the beginning/end of the long work day. Go auto

one of the benefits of a manual car is that your vehicle never gets picked among friends for a 10+ hour roadtrip where multiple drivers are needed. i'll save those miles thanks!

This post reminds me of a tagline I saw on SigForum " I may be schizophrenic but at least I've got each other."

The 2IS already eliminates that problem by the fact the back seats would be awful for adults on a 10 hour road trip

Can't say that ever crossed my mind...I understand the 350's manual mode is not "true" manual but its much better than HAVING to only deal with Manual. Did that trip from Orlando to Tampa in the Roush on a friday after work in rush hour traffic = MISERABLE!!!

My vote is the 350

Wouldn't let my friends drive my 350 for long periods of time on the highway. So this would never happen. Or i'd just say NO lets take your car.

I doubt the manual transmission will be here for long. Even the BMW M5 is phasing out the manual transmission. I'll give Lexus a few more years...

Gee who would have seen that happening. A harmless thread turning into 250 vs 350.

Whatever, my IS 550 is better than all yours (almost combined!)

Not really my car, don't flame please

I feel like 2012 may be the last year for a manual transmission Lexus.

We'll see.

I miss my manual civic. Granny shifting, not double clutching like I should.
