As long as it's for a GoPro Camera....it's ok! Just don't leave it there.

Take it over to Lowes or HD and they should have a thread type guage device or something. Or if you have a tap and die set you should have a guage in that box too. If you would like, PM me and I'll find out tonight. The tow hook is in the tool "bag" along with the other Lexus OE tools...right?

Well, I tested out the thread pitch...but those threads are HUGE. Unfortunately my tap and die kit didn't have anything NEAR that size. Lol! I tried.

LOL! This is the bracket that I made and sold here on CL.

The thread size is a larger thread. It's an Acme thread 5/8"-8. If you need some threaded rod, you can get it from McMaster (www.mcmaster.com) and do a search for acme threaded rod. You can choose the size from the side menu and it gives you several choices.

This is unless you have a machine shop with a lathe. Then you can single point the threads or run it on the CNC.

I've tried to search for a similar metric equivalent but nothing is close. This rod works the best for the Lexus tow hook, if you can't manufacture it yourself.

PM me if you have any questions.

I was gonna say...my OE tow hook had a MUCH rougher cast. No wonder! I just figured new models' tow hooks were nicer. LOL!

Thanks bro! But the finish is a little rough too on the threads. I had to grind down and smooth out the square threads by hand on a grinding/Scotchbrite wheel to get a decent finish. We don't have a machine shop with sophisticated grinding/polishing machines so this is the best I could do with what I had available.

The square threads will work too...FYI. Just a nicer, smoother fit with the rounded threads, just like the OEM tow hook.
