Should I get rid of my '07 IS250??
I have a friend who is looking to end his lease early on a 2011 C63 with 8,000 miles. He was paying about $1,070/month and has already made about 13 payments. The buyout at the end of his lease is about $38k.
On my end, I have a 2007 IS250 with about 80k miles in excellent condition.
So my questions, I suppose, are:
1. Would the most cost efficient method be to simply sell my car and take over his lease payments? And if so, how would that happen? Would I have to go through the dealership to have the paperwork done?
2. Should I let him return his lease to the dealership, buy his car as used from the dealership, and trade mine in? Would the dealership even do this?
Thanks in advance for any useful advice, as I'm not every experienced in car buying

I would say sell your car and purchase his car from the dealer after he returns it. Otherwise you are taking on his neg equity from his lease.
If you're in a hurry I would think trade in your car to dealership but still after he returns his lease.

That is what I had thought to do at first, but won't the dealership just mark the car back up? At that point, wouldn't I be taking a big hit with negative equity anyway?

If you are lucky, the dealer may not mark it up, in hopes to keep you as a service customer. I know people that have done a 3rd party sale through the dealer, who put it through as a trade.

As a plus, the car is pretty modded out already. Tuned ECU, carbon fiber spoiler, lip, etc. so that would save me a bunch of money on mods lol.
