Default Chrome window trim blackout?

Hey I'm contemplating on getting the chrome side window trim either hardchrome (darker finish) plated or just plasti diping them. Anyone have any pics or anything with a SGM?

What do you guys think, hot or not?

3M Molding trim cheap easy and fast much easier than painting and you can take it off !!

Definitely thinking about doing this since I'm planning on blacking out my grille surround and badges!

ZeroseVen, that looks nice.

What type of 3M wrap did you use? And was there a trick to installing it (i.e. how did you get the curve wrapped)? Did you have to remove the trim, wrap it, then reinstall?

I had it professionally done with 3M vinyl in matte black.

Not to discourage you from doing it but If I'm going to do it again I would remove the trim and paint it.

It can be done but you to be very patient and precise to where you are heating and stretching the vinyl. The most difficult part is tucking in the vinyl around the trim. If you don't do it right it will start to slowly peel off and bubble in a matter of days.

It's the overspray with plasti dip that gets messy. If you spray coats on its not too bad to peel off but that's if you have a nice tape line. All the nooks and crannies of the trim wouldve sucked.

Thanks...this is good to know. I don't know if I'll wrap it since I thought it was a simple process. Maybe Plastidip or paint.
