I've got it too. Thought I maybe didn't tighten the cap properly. Cleaned it up and checked back in a couple weeks and it was there again. 2007 is250 60k miles. It's strange that so many people have this issue.

how high are you guys filling up the coolant? I was at 3/4 between the low and full line when i was getting it. Now that im just a tiny bit below the middle between low and full I don't get anymore coolant splashing out.

Its not an "issue" really. Its just super-hot coolant escaping through the reservoir filler cap under normal driving conditions. If there are no system leaks, then there's nothing to worry about except keeping an eye on the coolant level.

I will buy each vehicle that displays this defect for 5 dollars. As your vehicle is now worthless, I suggest you take the 5 dollars where you can.

One day its a coolant cap that wasnt designed properly, the next day your car spontaneously combusts, and ejects you into a tree, like a pilot ejector seat.

Take the deal now.....5 dollars. The offer is good until the end of the day.

I had this same problem. I just cleaned out the overflow hose and cap, haven't had it since. It was full of crusty crap.

If your over flow is to fill it will pop the cap. That bottle holds pressure and then the pressure is greater then the over flow tube can dump fast enough it goes to the next weak point. I.E poping the cap. I over filled mine once and it did this. Clean the area around it and make sure your not over the max level on the bottle. Chances are it won't come back. Also look at the over flow tube for any clogs from crusted coolent

^The thing is, the container doesn't need to be overfilled (anything over full/max) to development the pink crust. Over time the coolant will minorly leak out through the cap creating the crust once dried.
