Default Anyone ever have the mounting bracket cracked on their headlights?

Took my car in for the 10,000 mile service and come to find out my mounting bracket was cracked and that's why my right headlight does not fit in place. Shouldn't this be covered under warranty? Anyone know how much this part cost?

if your headlight doesn't look proper installed it should cover under warranty, but I wonder what bracket are you talking about?

Yep, mine broke though when I ran over a thick tree limb in the road. I believe the bracket or tab he is mentioning is an upper tab that connects to the fender area. My passenger side headlamp sticks out about a couple more MM than it should now...but only I really notice it. It is part of the entire headlamp housing...I don't believe it is a component that can be replaced unless you replace the entire headlamp.

To fix the break though, you can simply try your hand at plastic welding or use epoxy.

This man is correct, the replacement tab is about $24.00 from the dealer. I would also add some expoxy on it to make it stronger as it's screwed on.

This has happened to me too so I ordered the mounting tabs from my local lexus dealer and had one of my techs replace it. It also came with screws...

Is it the lower or upper mounting tab?

Oh, so when Lexus redesigned the headlamp housings they made the mounting tabs replaceable. Lucky dog! My '06 headlamp mounting tabs are integrated into the housing. I'll have to epoxy mine.

Its a common rookie mistake. A young technician with no patience or finesse. Happens more time than ya think.

They're all integrated into the housing. When you use the repair brackets/tabs, you cut the old ones that are moulded into it off and screw the new ones in.

The repair parts are for all 06-12 models.
