Yikes! I'm pretty sure with that kind of damage the raccoon has gone on to raccoon heaven (I think it's like a big huge garbage can or something...) But yeah, I'd go through insurance just to be sure everything gets taken care of correctly. I doubt it will do much against your rates unless you have made other claims in the recent past.
I ran over a raccoon doing about 70mph in my brothers lowered Honda Civic a few years back. No damage to the car but I could feel the raccoon getting tumbled on the under body of the car. It was pretty nasty! I didn't even bother checking to see if he was OK.

75mph and hit a raccoon? I'm almost certain it would have died on/soon after impact lol
Go through insurance, this kind of loss should be covered under comprehensive damage. So you just pay the $500 deductible and nothing else. No insurance rate increases or anything since it counts as not at fault. Check with your insurance company to make sure, but in most cases, you'll only be on the hook for the deductible and your rates wont be affected.
The deer hit you or you hit the deer?
lol j/k

Of the damage or the racoon?
Anyways, sorry to hear about the car... at least, there's no permanent damage to the frame, etc. A good shop will have it brand new.
I hit a killer pot hole on the way home at midnight... road was too dark and couldn't swerve it last minute. I'm sure it would have cracked or bend aftermarket rims... I'm rolling on stockies. I guess I may need an alignment after that hole.
