Smile New to CL, was wondering if this is a good deal.

Hello there, I'm new to CL. This would be my first and I have to say I LOVE the ISX50's/ISF's. One the moment I glanced upon one of the IS250, I was immediately in love. :P

Anyways, I'm new to CL and new to cars in general too so I do not know much about them. However, I stumbled on a rather decent (at least I think..) deal for an IS250.

Specifications:
2007
IS250
41k Miles
Starfire Pearl Exterior
Black Interior
Automatic Transmission
Clear Title

All this for $21,500 from a dealership.

This is the perfect combination for me, I love Starfire Pearl and black interior with rather mediocre mileage and a decent price too.

What do you guys think? The only downside is that it is not in my state.. (it's in Florida and I'm in Arizona) so I cannot see it and then there's the shipping and taxes that are required to be done. Which I am unfamiliar as this would be my official "good" car. I've been driving a '99 Accord and the cost of the repairing is piling up quickly!

That's a great deal. Ask the dealership what they can do for a preview of the car. I'm in Arizona as well. There aren't any other similar deals in the state?

Welcome to CL.

A few questions:

- Could you give us an idea of what option/packages is loaded on this vehicle?
- Is this from a Lexus dealership?
- Could you post the VIN#?

What options does it have and is it being sold Certified Pre-Owned (CPO)?

Depending on the what options it has, it's pretty much the same as mine!
When I got mine i paid about that price for my 2007 IS250, SFP w/black interior, 38k miles, auto, w/o navi, but it was also CPO and came with the 3yr/100k Warranty. If it's CPO that's a good deal, but if its not I would try and get the price down lower.

Follow the instructions here and check it out for the common issues via the Lexus website's dealer service history: https://www.clublexus.com/forums/is-...e-threads.html

As said above, seems like an OK deal but would be a great deal if CPO.

Yeah I don't think it has any options but here's the link!

Here is the service history.

When did the vehicle go on sale? There does not seem to be other history after 03/31/2011. Looks like the car may of not had all the maintenance services done looking at the history unless it was done at a non-Lexus dealership.

On a Florida car you'd definitely want to be able to inspect it up close for signs of things like windshield molding cracking (and any other molding/weatherstripping cracking) and soft, sticky dash.

Buying cars that are not local to you is a craps-shoot, at best, but you CAN save a load of $$$. My personal example...I got an '06 350 last year April 1st with 31k miles on it. NAV, sports pkg, SGM color, blk interior, clean previous dealership work history, etc. Had to fly from Charlotte, NC to NJ to get it; but you tell me, with a price tag of under $21k out the door how could I have passed it up?

But, because we have so many members in all areas of the country perhaps there is a member in the area where that dealership is that could help you by giving it a once-over.

Anyhow, the price is definitely not bad...but 99% of deals compared to mine just aren't up to par. But those are rare, and I was uber lucky. Wish you luck, and hopefully someone from that area in FL can help you out big time!

Welcome, and enjoy your stay!

Fort Myers is a good place to buy car from. I would go check it out for you if it was on the east side..

I think the price for used here is pretty inflated. I was trying to get a 2008 IS250 from Scottsdale Lexus, and they list the price almost the same as MSRP so it only can go down so far. I was able to get an IS350 still under factory warranty from a non-Lexus dealer. I think that's the best bet if you want a good deal.

Holy crap, the car in that link is pretty much the EXACT twin of mine when I got it new. It's like looking at my car when i first got it

I'd call and make an offer on the car. I'm sure you can get it down closer to $20k. Looks like its at a Cadillac dealership so its not CPO either. Get that price down and you've got what looks like a great IS!
