Default Best Place to Sell My IS250.... Any Suggestions??

Hey guys.... havent quite decided yet, but I am leaning towards selling my Lexus . I just purchased a house and things seem to be adding up quickly... and the most economical solution would be to eliminate some of my bills.

-The car is a BEAUTIFUL 2007 IS250 AWD with Navigation, and premium package with almost 52,XXX miles. In Perfect condition KBB came back at $24,659. However I was thinking of asking around 24K flat. I was going to Craigs List it here in Nebraska and post it here, is there any other FREE methods of selling? I purchased in NJ and drove it back as it is hard to find AWD in good condition with Navigation in the Midwest.

Any Suggestions would help... thanks

Ebay is a joke, as they will take about 7% all said and done.... I put a ban on selling on ebay a few years ago.

I will definately look into auto trader.

Don't put it on eBay as an auction, that would be silly. Put it on eBay classifieds; it's just an eBay version of Craigslist. No auction/obligation to sell/fees, etc. Also post it on the CL forum's classifieds page.

I sold my E55 a little over a year ago, and was in the same situation as you. All around the same time I posted ads on Mercedes forums, eBay classifieds, Craigslist, and Cars.com. Of those, only Cars.com cost money (~$40). Guess how many hits I got from Cars.com? Zero. Guess how many I got from eBay and Mercedes forums? About 20, and ultimately 4-5 very interested parties looking to fly out and see it (ended up trading it in ultimately).

So you're thinking the right way in looking only at free channels. Post on eBay Classifieds and CL (and other Lexus) forums and I'll bet you'll start getting hits quickly.

Side note, never post a phone number in any of your ads, and for when you do have to give out a phone number set up a free Google Voice number which you can have forwarded to your cell.

Start by putting a For Sale sign on your car. Next, Calvin pretty much covered everything. I found my 2IS on Auto Trader.

I've always had good results on Craigslist...

Also, watch out for scams and pick a safe location if buyer wants to see the car. I heard people getting car jacked at gun point...

Popular scam involves counterfit checks and the famous "over payment with check scam". Get cash if possible or registered bank check. You may want to choose a date when banks are open to clear check right away.

Good luck
