Default Headlight and tires

Hello,
I'm new to this forum as I just bought a 2009 IS250 RWD manual transmission. I love this car as its much different than my RX. I'm just re-learning to drive manual.
I do have a few questions that I could not find the answer to.
My car as halogen headlights and I would like to upgrade them to HID or LED. May I get some ideas.
Secondly my tires are the stock 17 inches and I don't want to change the rims. But I was wondering if anyone has put the same size tires on the front wheels as the rear tires as the rear tires are wider. If anyone has done this what has their experience been, positive and negative feedback is welcomed.

Thanks in advance,
Chris

I put stock HID's in my car with halogens, then ended up getting the 2011-12 style headlights (also HID), both can be done with relative ease. I actually have a set of slightly modified 06-10 HID headlights for sale at the moment that I had in my car. You could also look into aftermarket HID kits, but the halogen projectors don't give that great a beam pattern with HID's. HID retrofit is also possible, but with the design of the headlights (side-mount bulb), it is not very easy and requires significant modification usually. It is however the best lighting option. Going with the stock HID's gives you nicer high beams as well (Bi-Xenon), but if you want to improve your high beams even more (or if you don't go with the Bi-Xenon HID's, you can look into HIR1 bulbs for the high beams, Toyota/Lexus sells these, part number 90981-13066. You will need to trim one of the tabs to get it to fit).

I have 245/45R17's all the way around on my car right now. I like the look of the same diameter front/rear, though I may actually go a tad larger (IS F diameters). I am not lowered (factory sport suspension). If you are lowered, the front will likely rub.

Jeff
