Question to owners who have done the valve spring recall

Question for those who have there isx50 diagnosed with this problem

and then fixed by a dealership...

was this fix like a one time deal and then never had the problem come back?

or was it multiple times until it was fixed...

I ask this because I just bought a 07 IS350, car was running great, until at a random moment doing my usual commute home and it suddenly dies on mr (CEL comes on, VSC warning, basically dash lights up like a Christmas tree, car starts and then shuts off)

when I towed it back to the Lexus Dealership where I bought the car, it was pointed as a valve problem

but the recall was done in 2010...

so this kinda concerns me, will this problem return again or not have to worry about reliability which is why I bought a Lexus and or well toyota product

I hope its a one time fix and not a recurring problem with these motors

Had the recall done early last year. Didn't have any issues before it and haven't had any issues after it. Sorry, I can't help.

Had mine done but never has the issue before or after. Did it to just get it done. But if the tech know what to do and does it rite should have no issue.

I recently had an issue related to the valve spring recall coming up a second time. The whole thing was documented in this thread:

https://www.clublexus.com/forums/is-...lp-please.html

The short of it is basically the valve spring recall was done at 68K miles. I purchased the car roughly a year after it was done at 72K miles. Drove it to about 77K and had a cylinder 4 misfire. After much back and forth the overall cause was faulty installation and an incorrectly seated valve when the recall was performed that caused issues again. The car ended up needing a new left head, all new valves and springs...of course it was all done for free as it was an issue stemming from the faulty work of a Lexus dealership. Details and progression of everything are in the thread, but the only way I could see it coming up again is if it was like mine and they didn't do the recall right the first time.

If it ends up being related to the valve springs again make sure to call Lexus Corporate about the issue...they will do everything in their power to make things right.

Edit: Can you pull the codes? Another possibility is that you could have a bad coil
