tires WONT grip from dig
Ok, heres the deal. I cant get my car to not burn mad tire when trying to go from a dig. ive seen a lot of people say u need to launch from almost 2k rpms to get the best 0-60 times for our cars, but i cant even launch from idle rpms. a few of my friends really know what they are talking about when it comes to cars but even they had not clue why i couldnt stick, so im coming to the forums. I have tried digging with ambient temp tires, probably 80 degrees, and i burned rubber BAD. so i did a few more burn outs to heat them up. STILL the same. me and my friends went on some very spirited drives for about 40 minutes on some back roads. im talking hard on the brakes and gas and turns so my tires had to be warmed up. stillnothing. i have never been able to get any tires on my car to hook up from a dig even with traction control on. I used to run some Hankooks at 225 front and 255 rear, wouldnt stick so i got bigger and better. I know my car is far from the fastest lex on the forums so what gives? thanks guys

arent HRZs pretty damn sticky? why should i have to roll on the throttle when everyone else on the forums launches from 2k rpms. the only other tires that are rated to be more sticky are some super sports

I'm surprised you switched to the Sumitomo HRZ III. I had Sumitomo HRZ III and found it to be very easy to break traction. I switched to hankooks v12 now and its a lot better.
The hankooks are good but no where as good as drag radials. If you don't want to get racing tires then I would suggest PSS.
Lastly, do you have the correct PSI in your tires? Lowering the PSI will make it easier to hook up

I find that my best 0-60 times(4.6-4.8 sec) happen with a launch rpm around 1200, after first doing a short burnout...2k rpm launches are not going to work very well in my experience... I'm using the bridgestone re760 a great improvement over the original bridgestone turanza...

I going to have to go with what he said, you have to roll into it a little easier. Just stomping on it in first gear at any time with traction control off turns the tires to smoke. I can't imagine launching at full throttle on street tires and hooking up on anything except maybe the most perfect conditions and surface. I have Michelin Pilot Sports and that will even turn them into a pile of molten rubber.

You need stickier tires. The lighter rims and short first gear ratio puts a lot of torque down. I can't get any tires to stick on my IS-F using 18 pound rims... but Mickey Thompsons and now TOYO R888 don't spin at all. These tires don't even spin on the street (unless it's really cold outside, wet or dusty)
