With two members reporting issues with quality, i'm second guessing myself.

My Choice B is possibly some TireRack sub $200 wheels. Although I like the looks of these i do worry about a bad cast or bad batch.

I will be running these in 18"x8" w/ 245/40/R18

Anyone else want to chime in on your experience/ long term durability with these replicas?

How long have you had these in Mileage? anyone have over 36K on these and are still in one piece?

Any cracks? Peeling? Corrosion?

Always thankful to our clublexus board members for their valuable feedback.

Why not just get genuine OEM wheels:

There are a few reasons.

1. I have a staggered setup currently, been running that for last 15 years actually. Want the new setup so i can rotate tires front to back. (camber issues, which i just bought a rear bolt kit so hopefully get that fixed soon.)

2. The car is 16 years old already and i'm hesitant to drop $2k in rims and tires.

My other choice is to get my SSR wheels refinished and fixed. I have one front wheel that has a leak most likely to pothole damage. I'm probably looking at $200 to fix the one wheel or $800 to refinish all the wheels. Fixing one wheel is going to look kind of stupid because it wont match the others. Since these wheels are 15 Years old I'm also hesitant to make any large investment into them. Although I could probably sell them for $600 as they are. Oh and since I don't have a spare car. fixing them is also going to be a pain in the *** one wheel at a time type deal.

I guess i'm looking for something in the Sub $800 Range for new wheels that would last a few years. I'm not that horrible a driver and the roads here are really not as bad as NY or Chicago.

I was looking at a set of used GS350 18" but spending $1200 for used wheels just sounds stupid. You really don't know what that other person hit or if there is possible damage/cracks.

So if this post made any sense

1. Used = I really don't want to go that direction for fear of prior damage.
2. New = I really don't want to drop that much coin on a 16 year old car.
3. Replica = I'm afraid if the failures are common? or is this just some folks having bad luck.

I would pull the trigger on the replicas if enough folks here chimed in and said they are fine 3 years later.

I thought the same thing and had bought a set for the winter. Roads here are garbage. After two winters I had to have two fix that bent and then eventually one cracked. I contacted multiple places that had these for sale but they wouldn't sell me just once replacement wheel. I'd have to get a whole set. You get what you pay for.

So picking the lesser of two evils would TireRack be a "safer way" to go then these replicas?

Not that Tire Rack is full proof but am I getting a better quality wheel from something in the following group?

ASA GT12
http://www.tirerack.com/wheels/Wheel...0&autoModClar=

ASA GT8
http://www.tirerack.com/wheels/Wheel...0&autoModClar=

axis XA
http://www.tirerack.com/wheels/Wheel...0&autoModClar=

ENKEI TUNING RAIJIN
http://www.tirerack.com/wheels/Wheel...0&autoModClar=

MONTE TITANO MT6 VITA

http://www.tirerack.com/wheels/Wheel...0&autoModClar=

Sparco PRO CORSA
http://www.tirerack.com/wheels/Wheel...0&autoModClar=

I know a lot of these are made with different manufacturing process. I'm thinking Sparco has a pretty good reputation in the industry. Their wheels can't be complete crap. on the other hand I can see them slapping their logo on same crap chinese rim made at the same factory as these replicas.

Can't go wrong with enkeis which is what I have now. Hit several pot holes and still no problems. Enkeis does manufacture OEM wheels for several car brands as well.

still debating on what to get. Have not pulled the trigger.

Looking at craigslist for some OEM.
Hoping to score some GS350 18"x8" if they ever show up at a decent price.
Although buying used wheels is dicey.

But I think I talked myself out of these replica wheels.
If something does not pop up soon will probably pull the trigger on a tirerack wheels and tire package.
Probably the Sparco or Enkie.

At least they will be balanced and ready to mount.
