Dealership lied!

I think Calvin explained it pretty clearly and fully. Do your best to negotiate with the dealer and if not satisfied elevate it to corporate. As far as the non-OEM windshield, most insurance companies won't replace with OEM Lexus glass. Having the windshield replaced does not mean the car was in an accident. However, as it's a CPO car, the deteriorating molding is a known issue and should be replaced by the dealer. I would say, best case scenario is you get the previously undocumented damaged portions of the car repainted and the molding replaced. Best of luck!

Where you still under the bumper to bumper warranty though? Sometimes even if you're out of it, a lot of dealerships will do repairs out of goodwill for things that aren't that crazy. Longo Lexus here in L.A. is like that too, they've taken care of stuff out of the CPO warranty for me without any questions!

KillaIS is correct above, the windshield molding is explicitly not covered by CPO. They replaced yours out of goodwill. I also have a CPO car and they replaced mine out of goodwill because I complained. Most dealers won't put up a fight because the parts + labor cost is $100-200 for the whole job, so they'd rather do it and keep a happy customer than explain it's not covered.

They didn't mentioned it to me when I brought it in. I intially sent an email to the service manager and director and told they told me to bring it in. I went to get the loaner car as they said they needed to look at it in person (gave me loaner car) and told me a few hours later to pick it up (replaced).
On the invoice it listed as warranty. So probably they probably did replace it under bumper to bumper since it had about 18K on the ODO if I recall correctly if it was not under CPO.

The dealer could have been going off the carfax... clean carfax, they can say the car had never been wrecked. according to sewell lexus here in dallas, carfax only has accidents on it when there was a police report filed.
It’s not what you wanna hear but you’re SOL if you think you have any recourse.

Factory fenders/hoods will have a factory VIN number sticker on them with a matching VIN, replacement parts will not..
