A lot of paint work.Under the hood,door jams,inner doors,under trunk lid,engine compartment etc.
Might also hurt the value of the car.

It would be cheaper to trade it for the color you want.

Nor would I. It's not like the car is originally painted by your local dealership either.

Almost any kind of modification will usually hurt the resale of your car. Paintwork is a huge mod and would for sure lower the value of your car. No one wants to buy a repainted car, and it might also raise questions as to why the car was repainted (damage?).

Paint done by the dealership is usually outsourced, though a few dealership have their own paintshop. Either way, its never going to be equivalent to factory paint. Factory paint job will always be better.

Truthfully, for the all the hassle and money your going to go through, you should just trade in your car for a different color. You should have done your hw better if your did not like the color of your car. But luckily there's a small hope for you; have you consider wrapping your car? Do a search for wrapping a car, its cheaper and is reversible so that the resale of your car does not go down in value.

It will affect the value of your vehicle for sure. Your better off selling it and buying the color you want.

I have had a couple cars painted. You're probably looking at $4,500-$6,000 for a good show paint job. I wouldn't paint it a stock car color. It can take 3-5 weeks if youre doing a full paint job. I don't care about value going down because it's my car and I don't do stuff for other people or re sale.

Repainting the whole car is really expensive
If you could afford that, you are off trading it in for a newer car

I wanted to do the same thing but thought wrapping the car in matte black would look better.

you can get vinyl wrap in any color from online, and get it done in any shop who does tinting e.t.c
plus it protects original paint of your car! and no problem with DMV or selling it, just take it out that's it! and it will cost much less than painting it for 2K-3K

if you want to save money and preserve the value of your car just get it wrapped.

a good paint job is probably gonna cost you alot, unless you were thinking about getting a custom color. But if you just wanted a black or SGM color I say trade in the car for another
