I take it back. It is a little ghetto.

To give this thread a life. I will be doing my TSX retrofit with a metalcast blue. Headlight housings will be done with a duplicolor black chrome paint kit. I'll be doing a full DIY for this retrofit.

Good luck, I tried the duplicolor black chrome on my housings and it turned out horribly. I've painted tons of things to.

Thanks, figured I'd give it a try, didn't want something way too dark. Figure I'll give it a few coats then hit it with a bunch of clear to darken it up some more.

Even just 2 coats made it really dark. But it's a lot of edges and the paint sticks to the corners funny. It also gives off a weird green color in the light. Didn't match my black chrome wheels or emblems at all.

Yeah that was my goal... But didn't work out. I may send the housings to dipped parts and see if they could do it.

Anything Red or Blue light is a Police Magnet .... I live in So Florida , and I had blue LED strip on lower grill assembly , It looked great and I got a lot of compliments on it, didnt get pulled over for about a month and a half, then I was pulled over three times in one week .... that was enough attention for me .... so if you intend on doin this on a daily driver , you prob will be pulled over ... I got tired of the negative attention ... so I installled a switch to turn it off and on ....... like when Im just sitting at a meet ... good luck !!!

The Duplicolor Black Chrome kit is terrible if you're wanting the black chrome look. Using too little makes it spotty, a little more makes it look green under sunlight, more will make it look reddish under sunlight, and the next thing you know, it's gloss black. It's great if you're wanting gloss black but black chrome, it won't look good.

What about paint matching? I found some paint that matches Obsidian. Would it look good?
