Emblem/Badge removal

Want to remove Both my Lexus emblems front and back and the IS250 badge to paint it. The best way is to use fishing line and goo gone right ? As for the IS250 badge are all the letter and numbers separate pieces ? What do I use to the emblems back ?

Does it look like this ?

If I remember correctly, the I and S are stuck together and the 2, 5, and 0 are as well. And yes goo gone and a fishing line are the easiest way to do it. Why not just plasti dip the emblems while theyre still on your car? Its easier to do IMO

Heat it up a bit to make it easier... you can park outside on a hot sunny day or use a hair dryer.

Fishing line to slice thru it and goo gone to remove the left over residue.

To put the emblems back, use 3m double-side tape. Make sure to choose the thin strip so it doesn't bulge too much.

If you're planning to paint it, you can try to plastidip it as bob4256 said. It's much easier because you don't have to remove the emblems and re-attaching it when done.

Also,

Use painters tape to tape around the emblems so you have a nice guide for when you put it back..

Just use plastidip and dont take em off at all...worked really well for me

I wanted to paint it another colour other than black.

Anyone tried the Plasti dip create your own color ?

I just pulled off my emblems with heat, taped screw driver head, and fishing line. Worked awesome. All of the is250 letters are seperated.

A tip you can do and what I did. As long as you plasti-dip before. You can spray paint it what ever you want. I did mine in blue. It looks good IMO. And yes if you ever want it off. You can rub your fingers on it and rub it off just like plasti-dip. I'm doing my wheels a funky color here shortly. Just cause if I don't like it. I can peel it off.

^ I thought spray paint will ruin plasti dip???
Has anyone else done this before?

All letters and numbers are individual pieces, as the OP picture shows.

I'm all for NOT plasti-dipping... Paint them the right way.

use FLOSS and run it behind the emblem

i removed alll my emblems too. i just used a plastic flat radio panel tool., i got all the emblems off in less than 30 seconds. then i cut out some black vinyl circles to go over the tiny holes that were left behind, from a distance you could not tell there are holes.

Just buy "duplicolor custom wrap" it looks way better than plastidip imo
