Default HID's Missmatching at 6k

I have 6k HID head and fog lights. The fogs glow in a bright blue that i would attribute more to 8k maybe and the headlights really disgust me because they glow in more of a aqua tone i guess due to the slight yellowing in the housing. I am considering switching the top to 5k which i think looks better anyway and dropping the bottoms to 3k to eliminate the need to try matching. ive noticed that a lot of people have a hard time matching the fogs with head lights im guessing because one is projector and the fog is regular. Any one else experiencing this?

one thing, if you run 6k low/6k fog you must run them together all the time due to the burning of the bulbs~ meaning you must have the lows on with the fogs at the same time all the time... also get the bulbs from the same manufacturer and buy the 2pairs at the same time so hopefully they'll be from the same batch, but even then its not a guarantee it'll match perfectly~

Both sets are from the same manufacturer and even from the point that i bought them i noticed the differnt. I replaced a balast and its still the same issue.

I have the same problem on my car (6k fogs appearing bluer than the 6k headlights). I've been told it has to do with the headlights being a projector housing as opposed to the fogs not. Anyone know more about this / have more details?

Yes..that is true. The light inside the projector is projected outward differently - it passes through the projector lens, then through the clear headlight cover before its output on the road. The light in fogs however doesn't have a lens to pass through. It's just reflected by the housing inside the fog through the cover and onto the road. This will make for a slight difference in color even if you have the same bulbs in both. Some members have managed to get "good enough" matches mixing certain kits.

Projector and non projector makes a difference. It's hard to match.

wish you luck. Ordered 6K low beams and 6k fogs from them so they'd match. Nothing but problems with the lowbeam bulbs. Went through two sets and no solution. First set would go off and on intermittently, second set burned out and blew out my fogs. not a fan

rookieIS, thats really clean. came out nice.
usually you would want to stick to the same brand if you're trying to match them both up. buying them at diff time might also be a bit diff.

I think a few people including my self have mentioned that we bought both kits at the same time and its from the same brand. I was eager to have top and bottom in at the same time so i did all of it the same day. I feel that the projector/regular housing is a better explination.

I just did my 6k garax headlights and 3k ddmtuning fogs and I hate it. I want 6k for the fogs now because I don't like the yellow.

Does anyone have any good pics of 6k's or the closest that will match to those?
