Default Anyone know how to change the shift ****?

I ordered the F-Sport carbon fiber shift **** from Sewell, which should arrive in a day or so (ordered last week). Just wondering how do you remove the original shift **** and install the new one? Info is greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Just twist counter clockwise to remove ...

Then screw the new one on!

Oh, and just a warning... the guy in the video - the way he removes the console - there is a huge chance you can do damage. After you remove the shift ****, you should remove those silver trim pieces first - then just pull up.

Don't stick a screwdriver in there!

How about the shift handle on an automatic '94 sc400? Definately don't grab it and twist.

Authorize, it's better to ask and be rudely demeaned by fellow club members than to proceed with force when you are not sure...
Seriously, a lot of uncalled for replies here.

I've seen some shift ***** over the years that aren't as simple as screwing them on (even without any kind of electronics), particularly some when I was in Mexico from some odd European brands we don't get in the USA. I wish all things were as simple as twist and pull, but some things aren't

Thus, it's a good question to ask.

Just twist the OEM shifter counter clockwise to loosen. It will be sticky but you will need some force for the first time to break it loose. Make sure you keep your hand level so not to bend the stick. GOOD LUCK!
