Default Window fogging during cold and humid days..Problem?

It seems that every time it rains and is cold outside (which happens two weeks out of the year here in Texas) my front windshield fogs up. Then i turn my defrost on and it (very powerfully i may add) defrosts my windshield in 5 seconds. Then the cycle starts up again.

I found that this tends to be frequent when i have the vents closed and am circulating the air within the cab. When i open the vent and have my heater on, it doesn't happen...

Any one else have this issue? How do y'all deal with it?

Happens to me too, its pretty annoying. It was really bad last month, but for whatever reason it hasn't really been a problem this month. But i blamed this on the fact that i left my sunroof open on a day it was drizzling 2 months ago. I hope that was the reason, cause turning the defroster on and off every min is really annoying lol.

My suggestion is use the auto setting. It will automatically sense the humidity and engage the defroster/ac/heat whatever so that the windows defog.

Thanks god it's not only me. I have to hit defrost button once every 10 mins when driving at night. My other car also does the same.

If you have the vent closed on recirculate the system will not dehumidify the air in the cabin and this will happen on wet or humid days and nights. It can be very dangerous if it happens at the wrong time.

At least leave it on fresh mode, this is going to happen in any car.

I wonder how common this problem is. Whats funny is my defrost button has the quickest defrost i have ever seen in a car.

Use the A/C. Yes, even when it is cold. It will dehumidify the air.

Extremely common, and not just on the IS. You shouldn't turn off the A/C compressor in recirculate mode. Just set the temperature to a comfortable set point, and the AC will operate with re-heat to dehumidify the air.

AC is the key i use it whether i have the heat on or the AC. it will take all the humidity away.

A/C button FTW. but yeah this is common, for most cars. You can get the Rain-X anti-fog wipes - they work pretty well as long as the glass you use it on isn't tinted.

I leave both my IS and G on automatic climate control and I never have this problem. In my Impreza, I always have the A/C on and the fan speed set to the first level. Air circulation is key.
