I am swapping it and calibrate it afterwards, but the 08 ecu is getting stiffer now.. So i am almost sure the ecu has a lot to do with the steering tiffness. I will try out the 2011 sport ecu when i get it.... Please be patient guys

Guys
I Finally installed the Steering ECU of the 2011 Fsport in my 2006.. I can confirm that this is just plug and play without any errors on dash.
The steering ecu seems to be calibrating by itself, so it is getting heavier each time I drive ( this was also like when I put in the 2008 ECU)
I still need to let lexus calibrate the steering ecu, so untill then I can only say that the steering feedback is better en stiffer than it was..
btw thanks Jeff for the ECU

With that information it seems correct to say that all 2IS steering ECU's are functionally interchangeable, with only minor differences. I would think the IS F ECU is probably the best way to go if you want the most significant change, but if you can find an 09+ Sport Package ECU, that's probably a good option too, especially if you have an 06-08.

I didn't calibrate the 2008 ecu, but will let lexus calibrate it next week.
And like jeff said, all IS steering ecu's are interchangeable
The difference is that the ISF uses a different bracket.

Without calibrating it, you can have differing assist levels while turning left vs. right, along with other minor issues. Both ECU's Alantjai has done without calibrating have been previously calibrated though. I'm not sure what would happen with a new ECU and not calibrating it. I calibrated both of mine before starting the car.

Maybe I missed it, but exactly how does the steering ecu get calibrated and does it have to be installed in the car in order for it to get calibrated? I've seen these steering ecus on eBay a few times and as long as it's an 2IS or IS-F these will be plug-and-play and behold a stiffer-feel in the steering response?
I've got a '06 sports pkg 350...so would both the '09+ AND IS-F steering ecus be an upgrade from my stock ecu?
BTW Jeff, how's that LSD working out for you? Perhaps an update in your LSD thread to keep things consistent. I'll looking at picking up a used 350 pumpkin and getting either a Quaife or seeing if I can luck out to get a '09+ IS-F Torsen.

I would think that the 09+ ECU would probably be better, the 09+ Sport Package ECU would definitely be better, and the IS F ECU better than that. The ECU needs to be in the car to be calibrated. You use the TechStream once it is installed to calibrate it, with the ignition on, engine off.
I still have my stock 2011 ECU, which I might try to sell, not sure yet. I don't really need it, but we'll see.
As for the LSD, still loving it. I'll probably post an update in my other thread in a bit. It was certainly nicer having it through this winter, compared to last year without.

Ouch, over $500 for the pkg including the service subscription : "Purchase the Mongoose MFC for $482.63, then subscribe to Toyota’s factory-level Techstream software to run on your PC. Subscriptions are currently available from Toyota for two days ($55) or a full year ($995).
You get access to:
* Complete factory-level diagnostics software
* ECU reprogramming calibrations
* Repair data
* Wiring diagrams
* TSBs
* Identifix Direct-hit service"
I wonder what all entails the "ECU reprogramming calibrations". Hmmmm.
