Default XenonDepot vs HidExtra

Hi everyone,

I have a 2010 IS and recently just ordered 6000k D4S, and 6000k fog light from HIDextra so I can color match both. However, it is clear that the fog light has a slight tint of blue, whereas the D4S from XenonDepot doesn't - it looks just like my stock 4100k. Is this normal because they are separate vendors? Or XenonDepot just sent me the wrong one ...

Thanks !

two different bulb standards.

two different housings, reflectors, and lenses.

two different light outputs.

you're not going to be able to "match" colors, just come as close as possible.

I wouldo agree with brand.

Technically different housing, lenses etc... would affect it too but as long as brand is the same, the color mach should be very identical if not perfect.

Are you planning to get HID's your fogs? If yes, then Philips Ultinon 6000K for both.

That's why I went 5000k lows and 3000k fog lights, best output so far and I don't have to worry about "color matching", btw if I were you i would have gone with the same brand.

Garax 6000K D4S bulbs match the HIDextra 6000K fogs pretty closely. Perhaps you should switch your D4S low beam bulbs.

XenonDepot HID kits and HID bulbs use true Kelvin ratings. MANY vendors selling HID kits and bulbs do not accurately rate their bulbs which leads to this type of issue. Furthermore, I can assure you that we purchase our HID components from a different supplier which would also slightly contribute to a color variance.
