IS350 OWNERS WITH SUBS installed
#16
The 6.5" in the doors are not subs, they are midbass drivers (although listed as woofer on the wiring diagram). They play from around 50hz up to around 1000hz. The sub in the rear plays approximately in the 35hz-80hz range. I've checked these by testing output voltage on the stock amp with test tones, and also with an RTA. There's a huge peak in the midbass output in the mid 50's hz that I attribute to cabin gain.
As mentioned upthread, it is true that the front midbass signals play as low as the sub, down to 35hz or so, and since it plays higher than the sub channels ~80hz cutoff, it is actually a better source for the sub signal. However, the output voltage on the low end of the front midbass is much lower than the sub outputs, so if you were to test them both to the same amp the sub output would probably sound louder. That could be made up by adjusting the gain on the sub amp, or going with a more powerful amp.
A remote gain level control for a sub amp is always helpful (as long as it's not bass boost), and even better if the remote has a variable crossover frequency too.

According the the instructions on SCHOSCHE
you adjust it to the lowest setting 0. then play some music at 75% volume
then adjust your gain untill you here distortion. Once you here distortion back it off a bit and thats were you should be at test it out with all the differnt types of music your into... and let me know if those were the wires
I will be doing mine on Monday morning
My question is were does the four wires go too?
brown--A1
light green A2
pink A3
sky blue A4
So I got that now....
Once the wires are inserted in the SCHOSCHE, does the audio cables left and right act as the replacements of the wires? That connect straight to the amp?
Also there are 2 connectors on the left and on the right for audio cables how do I know which one I insert them besides trail and error lol.

i wouldn't rely on the DIY for the amp install.. i remember i followed it for my old LOC, and the polarities were reversed.. your only way of knowing for sure is if someone else is to go off of someone who did it correctly or testing all the phases yourself manually
