Just ordered VaisTech ML+ iPhone integration
And I can't wait!! I'm pondering getting it professionally installed, but would like to possibly do it myself. Any tips/pointers??
it is easy to remove the stereo and install--they are plug and play. the hardest part and most killer is removal of the center air vent above the radio. BEWARE OF STEREO SHOPS WHO HAVE NO EXPERIENCE.
I watched the videos, and did not understand at all, I ended up breaking the vent and having to buy a new one. However since then I have taken them off 3 cars, they are easy, once you understand you need tiny screw driver to press diagonally up (toward front of the car) in each of the slots and then down to sort of clear the tab and then pull it down.
good luck. You are not guaranteed a good job from anyone except someone who has removed the tabs before--I have seen many, incl some on this board, who have taken it somewhere only to have the dash ruined by so called professionals.
It reminds me of my old accord, in which you had to remove the clock from the center of the wood dash, to get to one of the screws holding the dash in place to get to the radio. You were bound to scratch the dash!

+1 for having someone with experience remove the center vent. It's a very easy thing to screw up.
Any thoughts on where you're going to mount/install the unit? I put mine on the floor under the carpet by the passenger's feet and then ran the iPod/iPhone cable up into the glovebox.

I have had my ml+ for about two months and love it. I use the Pandora function all the time. I even cancelled my satellite radio subscription.
I had never done any audio installation at all before and did this all myself. Just take your time and be careful. As others stated above be careful removing the vents as it is difficult. I removed my vents a few days before I received my unit so I would not have to struggle when I received the vaistech unit.
I put mine in the glovebox and built a custom phone mount in the ashtray. It is a great unit with zero problems so far. You will enjoy it.

I actually built one out of a little piece of wood and glued it in the ashtray. Filed, sanded, cut a hole in the bottom and glued the iPhone cable and painted it black. I will take pictures this afternoon. It turned out pretty good I think and have had no problems with the phone falling out.

Thank you all for the very informative feedback. Very cool setup TREE. I got my ML+ in today, and picked up the component cable already, so I'll be doing the install tonight.....and might do the DVD hack while I'm back there!! Wish me luck!!
