Plastic Dip Opinion/Suggestions Please!
So I have Gold Luff M1 wheels, and I want to plasti-dip these wheels to all black.
I am just wondering if it is worth it and if it will last with daily driving. People that have experience, please post suggestions and opinions. Its these but gold. http://www.google.com/imgres?q=luff+...:0&tx=77&ty=79 Thanks |

plasti dipp will only look good for a lil while. After it will look dull and boring. save your time

I agree with above, it looks good for a while but it will start to look dull and faded over time, especially if it is in the sun all the time. I did my emblems and grill surround about a year ago and its getting to be time to re-do it. I can imagine that wheels are subjected to even more abuse with the brake dust, road dust and water, random dogs, ext.

I'm not usually a fan of plasti-dip but I've seen toHn's car and his rims looks really good in person. It's reversable, so it's a good way to try it out and see if you like it. If not, peel the stuff off. Will cost you a can of plasti-dip. I can't comment on the longevity since I haven't plasti-dipped anything yet but I'll give it a shot if I want to try blacking something out.

For that wheel design, I don't think Plasti-Dip would look good on it. I agree with what the people above said about it becoming dull. The very instant all my wheels were back one after Plasti-Dip, I thought it looked pretty good but after a month or so, it started to turn brown/grey. It looked nasty and washing it didn't help too much. Same goes for my grille, I ended up just painting it chrome black. However, you can try what I did. I simply sprayed gloss black over the Plasti-Dip along with clear. It's been more than half a year now and the color is still perfect.
