HID ballasts emit excess heat? Use of heat sinks ideal?
Just got my HIDExtra 3k kit & harness in the mail and can't wait to install it!
Had been reading up about different kits and the ballasts themselves, and some say how about how their ballasts run hotter than their OEM units. I haven't actually touched a ballast when hot to test that theory (probably a bad idea)...but would it be a safe bet that any additional cooling you could add to the ballast would aid in longevity and performance? Perhaps one of these on each ballast with thermal adhesive would be good?
Thoughts/opinions? Is it worth the bother?
