Default IS250 with ISF Wheels - Rubbing fixes?

Hi everyone. This is my first post on the 2IS section of CL, but I've been lurking around, searching, admiring your rides, and learning what I can. Regardless, I've got a question:

So I just bought some ISF wheels for my IS250. While I know that there are a number of threads on this, I couldn't find anything to address the rubbing issue that occurs with the front wheels. What have yall done to correct for this? Here's a breakdown of what I have going on:

2008 IS250 (SGM, RWD)
OEM 18" wheels
Lowered on Tein S-tech springs
Swapping in 19" ISF (BBS) wheels with stock ISF tires (225/40 and 255/35)

Do you think that the 1.6" drop in the front will give enough negative camber to get rid of the rubbing, or should I just go ahead and order new 225/35 tires for the front? What have other people done to fix this?

Thanks a bunch

225/35 will help quite a bit....

225/40 is 90mm of sidewall

225/35 is 78mm

plus you can use the heat gun to reshape your plastics. Just get em real hot and use a tool to shape them away from the tire, then spray with cold water to set.

good luck

Thanks for the tips. I guess I'll try to do this in the following way:
1) Install the wheels with 225/40/19 in the front, if that rubs...
2) Try to reshape the plastic in the well, but if that doesn't work...
3) Buy new 225/35/19 tires

The 225/35/19 will return the total wheel+tire diameter to what I have now (225/40/18), so I know those won't rub. It won't be until the weekend at the earliest that I can try to install the wheels, but I'll post back here as I work things out.

225/40/19 would be 1 inch taller than the stock spec. It may throw VSC/Traction Control System off.

Anyway, put it on first and see if it will cause any problem, either rubbing or traction control.

I couldn't wait, so I installed the wheels. Here's what happened:

Nothing. The wheels fit perfectly fine. There is zero rubbing. It looks like the 1.6" drop in the front gave me enough camber to clear the larger 225/40/19 tires. In fact, it fills the fender gap better too, so it looks pretty nice. pics later this week.

They fit fine with no issues. I get rubbing with the fender liner on my Pass side only when I make hard right turns.

Lots of members on here run 20"(myself included) on their ISx50 with out any issues to the VSC/TC so I doubt the ISF wheels gave him any.
