By the way, my wife wanted me to post this pic of my wallet wall holder. All I need is my front pocket wallet (carries 3 credit/debit cards, costco card, drivers license, and my smart card) and my iPhone, and I'm out the door. I love it.

Haha never seen a wall mounted wallet holder but nice. And off topic but YES platinum is nice. I just stayed for free in Hawaii @ the westin on Kauai (that place is awesome) and got upgraded to a suite - BAM. If it weren't for status I'd probably quit my job.

Back on topic I'll have to think about getting one of these beacuse every time I take the car out I am literally swinging the car key around on my fingers all day...

Nice, I've got a lot of upgrade stories as well. The difference between a suite and a regular room is crazy.

Not sure. It's actually listed right in the IS catalog for 2009+.

Crazy!
Time to find a new dealership.

You're in CA, aren't there like 5 dealerships every 50 feet out there?

It works, the guy you spoke to has no idea WTF he's talking about.

And $140 is insanely high for something that literally takes em about 5 minutes.

1/2 hr of labor is the most you should be paying, which is $60-70 bucks at most Lexus dealerships.

Just order from Sewell with the CL discount. Then, print out the programming instructions in the original post. Make an appointment at your Lexus dealer, and tell them you need to get an extra key programmed (don't tell the, it's a smart card). When you get to the dealer, give the smart card to your service advisor with the instructions. Tell him it's just like programming a regular key. They shouldn't charge you more than a 1/2 hour time. If they argue with you, tell them you're positive it'll work and they're lots of people who've done it.

I think I am going to order one of these for my 06 350, i just installed a viper 5904 over the weekend (pretty damn easy on our cars) and it sucks having to carry the viper fob and the factory fob... I dont really have to worry about getting locked out of the car with the viper so i wont really need the key part that slides into the smart card.

I love the fob. It's the only thing I carry. I leave the physical keys in the door compartment.

I wouldn't want that, only because I use the fob to open up all the windows and sunroof as I get to the car. It's Texas, gotta let the heat out.

That price is a deal-breaker. How can they possibly justify that price tag? Plus, I have an 07, so not being able to use the key for everything would suck. It's a pretty sweet idea, though.

Do newer IS's come with this by chance?

the price isn't really that much more than the much larger key fob, so if you need an additional/replacement key this isn't a bad option to have one less thing cluttering up your pockets. Personally I got mine for "free" by using part of the $500 "sorry for the valve spring recall" card toward it since it'd otherwise end up expiring.

In the 4+ years I've owned my car I've used my mechanical key 0 times, so even if it wasn't possible to have one in the smart card I'd still use it.

(and yes, I think they started including one with I think 2010 350s, not sure off hand if they continued that for 2011+, expanded it to 250s, or dropped it)

Very sweet! How much does dealer usually charge for programing the key?

usually a half hour of labor (even though it only takes 5 minutes)... so 50-60 bucks depending on your local dealers hourly rate
