Default Help with: USB in the Mark Levinson system

2010 IS-F:
I just bought the car a week ago and I've been trying to play songs from a flash drive in the USB port. I plug it in and the folder of music appears on the screen. No music is being played. It flashes the track number and song with the time count a couple of times then it repeats itself couting up to the 12 songs I have in that folder. Nothing plays, after it counts all the tracks in the folder it stops displaying the folder name.
Any ideas?
I've used 2 different thumb drives: One is a Lexar and the other is a brand new SanDisk 2.0 16gb

What format is the songs saved under? Mine plays fine from the USB port and they are all mp3 or mp4.

So is there a way to reset the settings for the usb?

When I edit/delete folders from the USB on my computer, I plug it back in my car and it still shows the old folders
