Anyone know how to remove a stuck socket?
Trying to install my midpipe in a rush. I had a 1/2 drive breaker bar and a 3/8 drive 14mm socket. I used an adapter and I turned too hard and the bolts were rusted good and the adapter broke. Now my socket is stuck onto the bolt and the broken adapter is in the end. I got a new socket today and got all three front bolts loose but the last one has the socket on it.
Any tips or advice on how to remove it?

this has happened to me many times!!!
lol try this.. buy a locking extension

what i did was i had fishing line go under the locking button keeping the lock open and then letting go of the line to lock the extension when in the socket.. works perfect!!
I've done this twice before and hasn't failed me since lol
LET ME KNOW HOW IT DOES!!!

Okay, I got it out. I just jammed a pry bar in and pried it out. Problem solved but now I got a new problem. After removing three bolts, I'm on my last one and the midpipe comes off, only to find out my last one is slightly rounded and it won't turn because of this! Getting this pipe installed is much more work than I expected, hope it's worth it in the end lol.

1. Grab a one size smaller older socket, and do the opposite it...hammer it on!
2. Get a big crescent wrench or pliers and twist it off. It will destroy the head, but sounds like you need new hardware anyway.
3. Grind off the head of the bolt without damaging the flange.
Good luck man!

This happen to me before. The muffler shop sprayed it with wd40, hammered bigger extension into the socket and then used an impact gun. I had to replace the bolt after it was out. Good luck.
