well on the autotrader didn't offer buy it now price they quote my trade in value not a resale and KBB quote trade in value too? I will double check again

While i understand everyones point of view, the best thing to do is sit down and have a heart to heart talk with her. Dont give up your car if you dont want to. A relationship is all about communication and compromise not ultimatums (yeah that might be spelled wrong). If you decide to sell, $26k is a fair price, you may get another $2k or so by waiting for a better offer, but thats not guaranteed.

update, I just check on KBB website for the trade in value on my car in excellent condition with 14k and fully loaded for $28,625, two weeks ago when I checked was $30,095 and autotrader is $23,295

I don't see why the IS couldn't serve as a family car for a while. How many kids do you have and how old are they?

I think for a private sale, 26K sounds kinda low for your car given the condition. This is based on what kbb tells me, though, heh. It says MY car is worth 26K, and it's only in "good" condition mainly due to some scuffs and scrapes around the front bumper. Not to mention it has about 53K miles, too. I'd think yours should be worth about 28K.

EDIT: Wait a minute, she has a Z06??? And people are telling you to let her go!? That sounds like a damn keeper right there... Don't get me wrong, I love my IS350, but I'd say she has a good case to keep her car instead of your car.
