Default Turanza tires, Protenzas or Eagle GT?

What's best tire for my '09 IS 250? Lexus says Turanzas, but a "less expensive" alternative are Potenzas. Goodyear says I should get the Eagle GTs.

I know nothing about tires and always feel like the service guys are taking advantage of my lack of knowledge. I live in hot climate, don't drive like a race car driver, want a smooth ride and low noise.

Suggestions?

Check out Bridgestone Potenza RE760's.....good tire if you are looking for a well priced summer tire with decent tread wear rating (though you can't really compare tread ware ratings from different manufacturers). I'm on my second set and will definitely go for a third. Link: http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tires....0&autoModClar=

^^ Yup, on my OEM wheels, I replaced the stock Turanza's with Potenza's and not only were they cheaper, but they offer better performance and better wet traction

iirc I payed about $170 a tire (x4) vs $225 a tire at a local Wheel Works for OEM sized tires. It can depend on if your lowered or not, alignments etc.. but I think most members get between 15,000 and 20,000 miles on their OEM tires. They can probably chime in

15,000-20,000 miles is crazy good for Potenzas. On my G37's REO5OA I only got about 12,000, but maybe that's because I drove with my traction off most of the time

sorry should have clarified. I meant that about the Turanza ER33s. Haven't gotten a chance to find out how long my Potenza RE760s go due to their my winter setup and my Volks (Yokohama S.drives) are my summer setup

The Hankook V12s are both cheaper and better than the RE760s (and the s.drives for that matter)... all 3 are worlds better than the turanzas
