Anyone here with LED turn signals or HID fogs?

So two things I'm wanting to know about LED turn signals and HID fogs. I just installed some 5000k HID fogs and it was PITA doing so. I wanted to remove the whole bumper but the ballast wouldn't fit in the spot I want it to. So I just stuck the ballast to the side of the bumper with 3M tape. I also burnt my finger since the bulbs had problems fitting into the socket and a bulb fell out of the socket onto my hand after being on to test. So after having them on for like 10 minutes, I felt the housing lens and the thing is really hot. I don't think it ever got that hot with halogens but then again, it was 90 outside so no idea if that had anything to do with it. Anyone else with HID fogs whose housing gets extremely hot?

Also, turn signals. I'm getting tired of the egg yolk look and want to change out the bulbs to chrome ones or LEDs. I was fine with it when I first got the car but not anymore. I was looking up bulbs on eBay and chrome pairs were $15 so $30 total to swap them out. LED bulbs that go amber were $17 a pair so $34 but another $10 for four load resistors. I'm willing to spend the extra for LEDs but don't know if it's worth it. I prefer the LEDs more since it seems all newer cars are coming with them stock like BMWs/Audi's and look better. However, I'm concerned that LEDs will still produce a slight egg yolk look since the SMDs on the bulbs are yellow and if they are bright enough in the day. Chrome bulbs will get rid of egg yolk and will be bright enough. I don't want to get chrome and then want LEDs in the future. I'm wasting money on stuff, like I first had blue tinted halogens, went to 6000k HIDs, then now to 5000k. So anyone with LED signals, especially from eBay can help me decide?

My fogs were pretty hot whenever I tested them. I also did the same thing as you with the ballast. I cut my finger peeling back the lining so I slapped that beast on the side of the bumper. I was tired of dealing with it. Nothing wrong with my housings so far.
