Help!!!! Headlight conversion kit
Hi,
I know that this Thread is old but i am running into a similar problem with my installation on my 20010 IS.
I did not attempt to do the work myself but my body shop is working at it and they have a problem with the bumper bracket. The locator studs don't fit and therefore the three screws cannot be aligned. We called Sewell and they told me that i can only use two of the screws and also have to fit the old bracket to the lights.
How did you get through this problem?
Thanks for any suggestions, Peter:

I will post the picture of my modification as soon as we have figured it out.
I got the "loaded version" of the kit as i needed to upgrade from the standard Halogen to HID, and it came with the ballast installed. We didn't even get to the wiring problem you guys have, but after reading through the other postings i only hope that i don't have to do anything to my wires.
To bad that Sewell does not post any explanation or install tips.

1.If you ordered from sewell you will not have to touch the wiring diagram.
2. The bumper brackets mod is easy, try putting the bracket on the NEW HEADLIGHT and you will SEE what is in the way.... CUT THAT PART OFF.
3. Install headlight and your done.

Bracket Pictures- Before and After Modifications
The first picture shows before the modification.
The second picture is the finished installation, before bumper added.
The final picture shows the cut out and the screw placement on the modified bracket.
The wiring is really plug and play, and everything came out perfectly!

I was very worried with AFS before I was going to install my new headlights. But, it was a very easy modification. I also don't miss the AFS and I think the new headlights have better projectors than my older headlights with AFS. The only thing that bothered me was the flashing AFS light in the dash. I pulled out the AFS fuse for now as a temporary fix until I take the instrument cluster apart to cover he AFS LED bulb. To be honest with you, I haven't missed the auto leveling feature yet!
