Default Replacing my exhaust fixed P0420 and P0430

So I had a really bad exhaust leak, I mean really bad. I checked with the scanner and had P0420 and P0430 in there and felt that my convertors were not getting hot enough to work properly. I replaced the complete exhaust system and it worked. Now I did use exhaust tape, and you know surprisingly that did work for almost 2 years.

If you have a bad exhaust leak, and have these codes then I would consider replacing your exhaust. I did a vid on it, and you don't ahve to watch it, not selling anything, but if you got these codes, check right in front of your convertors.

Thanks everyone

quick question, what lifting device/product are you using? Where to buy? What do you recommend now knowing what you know?

Hey buddy, believe me I have a tried a number of Jacks and nothing compares to the Quickjack. They store easily, you can do exhaust, and each side can move on its own. I bought mine from Costco, sometimes they have them on sale. I did a quick vid on them. I think Costco is the best bet if you can find them there. I did order this extra block set and use it all the time. https://amzn.to/3LekS19

If it ever breaks I'm buying another one !!! I use mine quite a bit a no leaks or anything.

you recommend just using brand new gaskets?

Is it cement or is it just exhaust gasket sealing paste?

Why is it bad? It may help save me as I am about to mess with my exhaust pipes.

I just used some to hold the gasket in place, have done it numerous times and never had a problem. I guess if you cake it on like crazy and it falls into the convertor then it could be bad as it may not burn off. I had trouble getting the basket to stay in place. Normally I try to put the gasket in dry and if I can't line in up then I use the stuff, better than a crooked gasket that leaks.
