Using Mobil 1 synthetic since my last oil change. I find that it's a lot nicer on my engine than the conventional oil and I get equivalent mpg if not better on synthetic then conventional.

Yup... there's folks who have done UOA with even conventional oil at 10k and the results looked fine, so any synthetic should be fine to even longer... (again- UOA is the only way to be SURE of the best OCI in YOUR car under YOUR driving conditions... but I've never seen a UOA on a 2IS that suggests changing more often than 10k regardless of oil serves any purpose but making oil companies money).

If you're just doing 10k then whatever full synthetic you can easily get will be fine, for most folks this is Mobil 1.... if you're thinking of possibly running longer (say, a 15k OCI with a filter change at 7500) then I'd probably go with a true group IV synthetic like Amsoil.

These days, it really comes down to personal preference. You cannot go wrong with synthetics like Mobil 1, Royal Purpal, Amsoil, Valvoline SynPower, etc. For everyday use, you will not find much... if any difference between them when you keep up with your standard maintenance. If you regularly track your car, that's where there can be a drastic difference.

I personally use Royal Purple in my 91 MR2 and plan to use the same when I change my 350's oil in the next month. Why Royal Purple? Because I've had great results with it, it costs a $1 less than Mobil 1, I can find it without a problem at any local parts retailer, they have coupons, and lastly....it's PURPLE, so it's KEWL.

Butter Flavor Crisco in 5W-30. Makes my exhaust smell like buttered popcorn.

Yup use a oem toyota filter ^^

I used 5w30 royal purple for my last oil change and my car ran smoother (I was on conventional oil before).

I'm going to use amsoil 0w20 for my next oil change and see how it is

Why would you go down to 20?? You live in FL. Do you even know what those #'s mean?

To be honest ANY good quality oil is good enough for a 250, using synthetic is just a waste, it's not required nor recommended by Lexus.

if any of you are wondering, lexus synthetic oil is just mobil one in a lexus bottle. Also theres no difference on gettin it changed at a dealership vs jiffylube or at home. its easy once you know what to do. So if mobile one is the "oem lexus oil" then I guess its the best for daily driving?

Source: long conversation with lexus sales in person

edit* also should run full synthetic since you can change every 10,000 miles which is the recommended. squeezing out 13k is pushing it tho. Royal purple is good but is not like you are auto x every weekend.
