Default 06-08 Tail Light Upgrade ?

Hey!

jw.. if i were to get a set of 09-10 or 11 tail lights for cheap from a resource..

how would i be able to upgrade them ?

do i need a new harness or will i be able to splice ??

I haven't done it, but you're probably going to need a different harness. Mind sharing your cheap resource lol

There is a guy here on the forum that just installed 11' tails on his 07' I think it is. His screen name is something like suxelIS300 or something close to that. Hopefully he can chime in. You can also check the Sewell website that sells the upgrade. Check the vendor section for their site.

yeah the 09+ tail lights will come with wire harness to replace the 06-08 wire harness, I have 09 tails on my, I like them more than the 2011, because the 2011 the clear lens is not clear, it is like pinkest clear.

J, a new harness is required for the 11' tails. The electrical component as well as the lock pattern on the bulb socket is different.

Not sure about the 09-10. I would imagine it too would require a new harness considering the LED. Ive yet to confirm if the 09-10 harness is the same as the 11' harness.

BTW the 11' tails looks sick in person. If I drive down to K-town this weekend, you will see.

hopefully you come down! this lip is waiting for ya !

im getting sick of these 08 tail lights.. hopefully i get it at a good price!

and my resource is a local junker! lol

From what I read, there's also a little tab you'll need to cut/grind down to make the newer tails fit.

yeah that is correct, I've bent the trunk metal in to able to get the newer inner tail lights to fit in, but it not hard
