10 bumper is entirely different and the front fsport canards will not fit.

Hey,

Going to bump this old thread since I will be installing my F-sport spoiler today (w/ 3M tape), and had a few questions:

- for those who used 3M tape, how has it held up thus far?
- As long as the surface is clean and I use a generous amount of 3M tape, should I be concerned with it randomly 'falling off' while I am driving?
- Will bad weather conditions cause the adhesive to lose it's effectiveness over time?

I plan to use 3M tape for my trunk spoiler as well, so any insight would be VERY helpful with this. I am just nervous I will mess something up during the cut and drill process, and end up having these ugly cut marks in the side of my bumper heh.

Thanks a lot!

Also, will lots of rain / constant washing affect the 3m tape in any way, as in lose it's effectiveness?

Thanks!

I've had mine on for 25k miles and no problems. FYI the canards are affixed to the surrounding of the fog lights and they clip in so they're pretty sturdy. Do not worry. As you mentioned use a generous amount of 3m where it makes contact with the bumper and you're good. I wash my car all the time and no problem. I have my entire GFX rear lip 3m also and if anything that should have fallen off. No problem!

Thats awesome to hear, thanks for that!! I installed my Fsport rear trunk w/ 3m and went with the cut method for the fsport front spoiler. Thank you guys for the DIY, was a tremendous help and it looks great!!

Anyone try the 3M method with the eBay splitters? The eBay ones should be pretty similar to the OEM ones, right?

Sorry to bring up an old thread. I haven' seen an answer regarding the black push clips that come with the lip spoilers. Where do they go?

I was wondering if there's an extra hole (2 holes/one on each side) that needs to be drilled for these push clips as there is a cut out template inside the bumper. See photo below:

It has been 4 years since I did this, but from what I can recall, yes, you need to drill that hole for the black clip.

I'd repaint them. You can get matching paint online. This is the company I used to paint a rear spoiler that I bought online. In addition to the matching paint be sure to get a can of sandable primer, adhesion promoter and gloss topcoat.

Good luck!

p.s. I don't own stock in this company I'm just happy with the results =)
