There are holes in the trunk.

Yeah, I wish it didn't have holes either. It would look clean with just the L logo.

If they had no screws though there would be epic theft of Lexus badging left and right! LOL I'm glad mine are screwed in.

It's not screwed in. The emblem just has a tab that goes into the holes. It's still easy to jack the emblems.

I sprayed goo gone on the emblems and let it sit for a few minutes. I used an emblem removal tool that was provided with my black pearl emblems. It's just a plastic scrapper so it doesn't damage the paint. After you take off the emblems, there will be leftover double sided tape, you can use your nails or a towel and just wipe it off until its all gone.

I've been told run fishing line or floss, dipped in goo-gone, behind the emblems works well.

Can someone take a close up picture of the trunk lid with the badging removed so we can see the holes

you can also use guitar string i use that and it cut threw the double side tape like butter .then soak the area with goo gone leave is one for 10min or so and rub it off then when ever thing is almost done i finish it with a claybar(youll start there and may have to do the whole car after) and bam like new ...
