Hi Guys, Looking at a couple of used 2008 IS250 AWD's. Both owners didn't know about the Valve Spring recall and did not think the service was performed. Did the recall apply to every US 2006-2008 IS (and GS/LS)? Or is it VIN# specific? If so, can you point me toward the official VIN # listing for the Valve Spring recall. Just wondering if I should pass on every '06-08 IS. I've read that occasionally a dealer tech does not do the spring swap properly (complex procedure) and their car never runs properly. Just trying to avoid buying a problem..

BTW is the IS due for a full replacement 2012? Thanks.

The recall only applies to IS350 models.

It has not yet been announced, however as the IS was just updated again for 2011, I wouldn't expect a new IS model until MY 2013 at the earliest (Late 2012 calendar date).

The following is the information from the Campaign:

NOTE: If a VIN range is published within the campaign documents, it should be used only as a reference to determine the start and end of the applicable VINs. It is possible that VINs within the range are NOT applicable to the campaign. Dealerships should rely upon the Automatic Campaign Inquiries, including the existence of the Campaign completion Sticker on the vehicle to determine the true eligibility of a Campaign.
