Default My new car

I just purchased a 2007 IS250 AWD. I bought it used at a bmw dealership, 18,700 miles, clean carfax.

I've been researching and looking all over the forums.
However, I need your help. I have one month left of the factory warranty.

Is there anything major that you guys recommend I should do?!
-there is a squeak on the front dashboard
-major major MAJOR brake dust on the brakes!

Only one month left of warranty! please help me!

All of the things you mentioned are covered by the factory warranty, so bring it into the dealer ASAP. Get a loaner, because it'll be a while; sounds like you're suffering from many of the common ISX50 problems.

- Tell them you're hearing squeaking from the dash and a ticking/clicking sound from the top and bottom of the windshield area (even if you're not). They should then perform TSIB L-SB-0090-08 for "Upper/Lower Windshield Tick Noise" and TSIB L-SB-0044-08 for "Instrument Panel Rattle".

- The TSIB for "Alternative Front Brake Pads", which should reduce the volume of brake dust, is L-SB-0155-09

- There is a TSIB for the carbon cleaning, but it applies to the 250 only and not the 350 so I don't have the info - you'll find it easily on CL

- If you ever use an iPod/iPhone to play music through your Aux port, I'd recommend telling them that you are getting noise/feedback when playing your iPod when it's connected to the Aux port and the cigarette lighter (power) port at the same time. They should perform L-SB-0169-09 for "Noise from Auxiliary Port with External Device". It's a really easy quick job, they just swap out the port with a newer one that doesn't cause feedback.

That's all I can think of off the top of my head. Do all this ASAP, because each of these things will cost quite a bit outside warranty. The dash rattle will be the toughest to eradicate; my 2007 IS350 has been to the dealer 5 different times to get it addressed, and each time is a 3-4 hour process because they have to remove the entire dash. When you pick up the car, test it out to see if you're satisfied with their fix; if not, tell them to do it over. If they magically do fix it the first time, PM me and tell me how they did it!

Congrats on the purchase - that's a very low mileage car! You're lucky you've got a bit of warranty left to work with. Let us know how it goes.

Also, I'd highly recommend purchasing a Lexus Platinum VSA extended warranty, which you can do only before your factory warranty runs out, so you have a month to decide. Here are some threads on it:

https://www.clublexus.com/forums/is-...-warranty.html

https://www.clublexus.com/forums/is-...250-47-6k.html

At least do yourself a favor and call Jerry Johnson and get a quote. Then you can decide whether you want to or not based on that price. Just keep in mind the exorbitant costs of doing some of these things outside of warranty.

Turn up your bass when playing music and the rear view mirror will vibrate like crazy, see if you can stand it, if not there's also a TSIB for it.

Sorry dont see the point of needing a picture. People act like they never seen a stock IS when they own one. Unless it has new mods it point less to me cause i already know how it looks like.
