Default What is this panel?

I would like to know if this comes with the car, it's on both sides of the rear and the white outline feels like dried compound
Tips on how to remove this properly?
EDIT: Just got this car and contacted the previous owner but doesn't recall :/

I believe it is the rock/chip guard protectant. They tend to look ugly after a while.
I used a hair dryer on medium heat and it peeled off for me on a previous car.

Yep, clear vinyl rock ship protection. After one of mine started discoloring, I removed both. Oddly, I don't have any issues with rock chips there; I get them all on the lower rocker (GFX kit side shirt).

Yup like everyone else said it's basically a small piece of clear vinyl/clear bra to protect from rock chips. Ever since I had to fix my panel for rust and had it removed I never had a rockchip there yet and that's even before my side skirt extensions. I think you could just remove it without any repercussions, Unfortunately I wouldn't have any tips on cleaning the edge of the vinyl, maybe some spray detailer on the edge of a microfibre towel could work?

To remove any remaining goop left from the removed vinyl, I just used wax/sap/tar remover. But one could also use rubbing compound.
