I have an Obsidian Black IS and I'm getting a spoiler for it. It comes unpainted and I'm going to attempt to paint it with Duplicolor Perfect Match. However, they only offer color 202 which is Black Onyx. If I were to use it, would there be a difference in the paint shades? Or did they just rename the color code or something?

i believe there is a slight difference however i know someone on here with a 212 like me bought 202 gfx sides and you couldnt tell from like 3-4 feet away.

Onyx is almost pure black, but Obsidian has shades of blue that can be seen under some conditions. see the real obsidian picture here

You will not notice a difference.

The major difference is the obsidion is a multi stage with a slight blueish hue to it if the light hits it just right. Onyx 202 is a single stage and looks super "wet" when polished correctly. As far as a spoiler goes, I'm sure you'll be very hard pressed to tell a difference. If it were a whole panel or something, you may notice a difference after a little wear but I think you'll be good to go.

There will be a difference. 202 and 212 use different toners to mix them. Sone people may not see the difference but there will be one.

Obsidian has some yellow in it and Black Onyx doesn't(the body shop told me when I took my grille in to get it painted Obsidian)

That me yeah I bought the 202 GFX side to complete me 212 GFX, and I can not tell the different even far away

yea so you should be good to go for accessories just dont do any major body work in the wrong color.
