Default Start up Rev issues?

I just got an 2008 AWD IS 250 a couple weeks ago. I think I've been having some issues with high revs when I start the car. Just had an oil change too by the way.

I live in Canada and the weather has been consistently around 0 to -5 degrees Celsius. Whenever I start up my car it revs at 1.5 RPM, which I know is normal because it wants to warm up quicker.

But I've had the car started for 10-15 minutes and the revs only drop to about 1.2 RPM. I can't wait any longer so I just go, but whenever I stop at a set of light for the next 5-10 minutes of my drive, my car revs at 1 and it shakes/vibrates while stopped.

When I plug block heater in, it revs at 1.2-1.3 but still takes forever to warm up.

Does anyone have any similar experiences? Is there a reason why my car is revving so high? My car only has 24k miles. Thanks in advanced!

well you shouldn't have to warm up your car. this engines come a long way. its best to just turn it on, let it run for maybe 15-30 seconds and go. The car will warm itself up, just keep it under 4-5k rpm.

and the vibration when coming to a stop is probably and most likely carbon build up. Known issue with the is250.

I have an is350 and have the same problem but i think its normal. when i start my car up during cold days the revs stay up for a while even when i am at a stop sign or stoplight the car wants to go so i have to hold the brakes down even harder until the engine warms up. I think there is a thread on this issue if you search it up.

It's because it's cold, its normal. There is a thread about this already though as tastfulmod mentioned

Can anyone direct me to these threads? I've tried searching to no avail. And tastfulmod, does your car shake a little while stopped at the light or stop sign too?
