Default Rain Issue

Every time it rains and I open my door water drips into my car and onto the seat. Does anyone else have this problem and is there anything I can do to fix this?

P.S. I have a 2007 IS250

unfortunately it is a design flaw in an otherwise almost flawless (imho) exterior...

trunk kinda does it too...

You can have a towel handy for those days. This is what the Owner manual says.

It happens. When it rains and you open the trunk drops fall inside the trunk too. I keep a towel in there though and just clean it up.

Not a design flaw....its actually the weather stripping. I got all four of mine replaced both door side and body side for free under warranty. All you have to do is prove to the dealer that the water remains on the plastic door sill after rain or a wash (which mine did), and they will replace them no questions asked. They said its a cheap rubber weather stripping that Lexus started using a few years back that warps in hot weather. They began using this softer rubber because of complaints of doors freezing shut in extremely cold weather. Now, no mo' dripping or water seeping...AND...less road/wind noise too. New weather stripping FTW!!

...I put a towel or pillow case on my seat on days it rains, when I open the door and water drips, it drips directly on the towel, not on my leather =)

^^^ It's definitely a design flaw since all IS's have it.

I always get one drop on the outter edge of my seat when I open the door in rain. Very annoying, as I have always gone out of my way to keep all liquids off my seats. So just a quick wipe with my sleeve or pant leg and it's off.

Happens to me too ... I usually have a microfiber cloth in the door compartment so I just wipe it up when it happens...

Didn't realize there was a "fix" for this. I always keep a microfiber + bottle of ONR in my car since birds like to poop on my car from time to time, but I just wipe off the water with my hand. The worst is when it snows and you open your door too quick, it just gets sucked in/onto the seat.

I think its jus something that is not avoidable and I'm pretty sure the seats can take a few drops of water. So I think nothin of it, wipe it off and enjoy the ride.

This is the first I've heard of any fix or a different molding being offered. If true, it sounds more like how a TSB would work. hmmmm
